I have been on a major Pie kick for the past couple of weeks! Really any kind of pie will do, such as apple pie, strawberry pie, chocolate pie, pecan pie, buttermilk pie.... Everything about pie seems so lovely, old-fashioned and rustic. I can make a pretty good pie crust but haven't yet mastered the art of crimping the edges. I'm getting better though! I do have one pie eater that doesn't seem to care what the edges look like: Justin! He's also in love with pie at the moment (very convenient, right?). This one is his current favorite:
Delicious All-American Apple Pie! The pie crust (while not perfect) is flaky and divine. The apples are all cinnamony and tart. Add in some creamy vanilla ice cream and you've got yourself a winner!

Bad Blogger Award...
And the award goes to Laura!! I seem to have a pattern of blogging in spurts, but we've got some fun trips and adventures coming up so hopefully I'll get on the right track again! I hope everyone is enjoying Spring (even with the crazy snow TX and LA got this past weekend!). We planted some cheerful flowers to brighten up our patio the other day and the weather here (if not snowing or raining) has been delightful! Hope your Spring has been just as awesome!
Well I am going to leave you with a few pictures from my (not-so) recent cooking adventures. I got 2nd place in our apartment's chili cookoff on Super Bowl weekend, so here is a picture of me with my chili!
For Valentine's Day, Justin and I had a delicious dinner at home. We grilled steaks and broiled lobster tails, served with some asparagus and a baked potato. For dessert, I made a Butterfinger Peanut Butter Pie, with homemade butterfingers. Here is a shot of what those looked like!
